August Protest: Police No Go Tolerate Violence for Niger State, CP Tok

Di Niger State Police command don talk say dem no go tolerate any act of violence for di state during di planned nationwide protests. Di state Commissioner of Police, CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamm, issue di warning for statement wey di Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, sign.

CP talk say di Command know say peaceful protest be right, but dem no go accept violent protest. But before di planned date, some youths on Monday take to di streets of Suleja along Abuja-Kaduna road to protest di rising cost of living for di country, dey chant anti-government songs. Dem wield placards with inscriptions like 'Enough be Enough', 'Stop Anti-Masses Policies', 'We No be Slaves for Our Country', 'Hardship be Unbearable', 'Fuel Subsidy Must be Back', among odas.

But di Special Adviser to di Niger State Governor on Print Media, Mrs Aisha Wakaso, describe reports of di protest for di state as false, while urging residents to continue dia daily activities without fear. She talk say di Chairman of Suleja Local Government, Ishaku Bawa Naibi, don confirm say no protest occur for im jurisdiction, hence di reports be unfounded.

Police Command, wey confirm di protest for dia statement, talk say, "Some boys dey sighted along Kaduna road for Suleja in attempt to block di road. Di Area Commander Suleja swiftly move with im team to di scene and di boys be dispersed peacefully."
