Agencies promise to pass revenue projections for 2024 budget
Plenty agencies wey dey bring money for we country don promise say dem go pass di revenue projections wey President Bola Ahmed Tinubu put for him 2024 budget proposal.

Na for one session before di House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations on Monday, Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), and Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) come talk say dem dey ready.

President Tinubu bin present N27.5 trillion budget to di joint session of di National Assembly, where e talk say dem dey expect revenue of N18 trillion.

Di Committee on Appropriations no stop to dey talk say make government-owned enterprises (GOEs) try pass di revenue targets wey dey inside di budget proposal.

Di Comptroller General of Customs, Wale Adeniyi, come meet lawmakers, come talk say di NCS don set target of N5 trillion in revenue for 2024.

Adeniyi come suggest say make dem generate extra N1 trillion by lifting di suspension of duty on single-use plastic and increasing di duty on alcohol and tobacco.

E talk say if dem fit solve some operational wahala, dem fit reach N6 trillion.

Gbenga Komolafe, Executive Secretary, NUPRC talk say di commission dey expect revenue of N5.6 trillion for 2024.

As lawmakers dey ask am question, Komolafe talk say e sure say dem go pass dis figure, as e talk say dem fit increase daily oil production by 300,000 barrels.

Even as wahala dey for di upstream sector, e talk say dem dey ready to pass di N6 trillion target.

For di other side, NCC Executive Vice Chairman, Aminu Maida tell di Committee say di commission dey expect N350 billion for 2024, with N224 billion to go enter di Consolidated Account.

Maida come talk say di NCC dey focus on sectoral growth pass revenue generation, e come talk say dem wan pass di revenue target.

E come talk say dem get plan to launch revenue collection app by Q2 2024 and dem go put revenue assurance system.

As di committee dey press am, Maida ask for time to check di NCC books to give correct answer on revenue projection.

Committee Chairman Bichi come talk say di committee dey ready to make sure say revenue generation dey to support di programs wey dey inside di 2024 budget.
