NDLEA Worry 'Bout Teite Drug Abuse for Abia
National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for Abia don blow grammar sake of the plenty drug abuse wey dey the state.

The Commander, NDLEA for Abia, Dogo Yusuf, yan dis tori on Wednesday as dem dey celebrate 2023 International Day Against Substance Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking.

Mr Yusuf yan say the wahala show for the long queue of victims wey dey wait to enta NDLEA rehabilitation center for Aba.

The event, wey dem mark worldwide, get theme: "People First: Stop Stigma and Discrimination, Strengthen Prevention".

Mr Yusuf yan say e pain am wella say NDLEA rehabilitation center for Aba no fit accommodate all the victims wey need help because the number too much for the state.

"E be like say space no dey, and dis one na clear proof say drug abuse dey high for Abia State.

"Na why Abia people suppose no dey carry stigmatisation put for bodi and make dem help those wey dey already for trouble to find their way back to normal life," Mr Yusuf yan.

E yan say the people of Abia suppose support NDLEA for their effort to end stigmatisation and discrimination against victims of drug abuse.

According to am, the stigmatisation wey dey against drug abuse victims don dey stop dem from find help for many years.

E yan say drug abuse victims na human beings wey get dignity wey dem suppose understand, get empathy and support wey go make dem feel safe, respected, and fit access treatment.

The Commander sef talk say the message wey im get for the event na the same message wey the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Retired Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa get.

Mr Yusuf beg the people of Abia to stand strong and break the stigmatisation wey dey stop victims from find help.

E yan say as dem fight against prejudice and stereotypes wey dey stop victims from fit chop better healthcare and acceptance, e go make society embrace victims as dem dey recover.

E yan say NDLEA for Abia don dey successful wella for prosecution and conviction of drug criminals, even as dem dey face plenty logistical challenges.

Mr Yusuf beg for assistance for areas like logistics and vehicle donation, talk say as dem dey fight against drugs for the community, dem need good motor wey go fit reach the affected areas.
