NCC deny say dem leak Obi-Bishop phone call recording - Report
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) don come out tok say dem no get hand for di tori wey dey ground wey talk say dem follow spoil di image of presidential candidate of di Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, as e concern di phone conversation wey e get with Bishop David Oyedepo, wey be di founder of Living Faith Church.

For di phone conversation wey scatter ground on top social media, Obi bin tell Oyedepo say di 2023 election na "religious war" and e beg am make e help mobilize Christians for some parts of di country to vote for am.

Although Obi no appear for di conversation like say e wan cause religious violence, people wey dey support di ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) condemn di statement and dey insinuate say e wan divide di people along religious lines, wey be one sensitive matter for one country wey don dey polarized afta controversial elections.

Peter Obi spokesman, Valentine Obienyem, don talk for statement wey e release for Sunday, say NCC dey follow APC plan, to take leak di audio and dem don dey track Mr Obi phone calls for di last three years to see if e don make any calls to support threat of interim government.

But for statement wey dem release on Tuesday, di Director of Public Affairs for NCC, talk say dem no follow spoil di tori and dem advise make di public no mind di allegations.

One part of di statement wey dem release talk say, “The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) don hear many enquiries wey media people ask about di allegations of telephone “tracking” and “leakage” wey some people and group put for social media and oda place.

NCC deny all di allegations as dem no fit "track" or "leak" telephone conversation for anyone, according to di Nigerian Communication Act (NCA) 2003 and oda law wey dey for Nigeria.

Di Commission don report di allegations to security agencies make dem investigate di matter and take necessary action.

NCC still talk say dem go continue to carry out dem responsibility as e concern Nigerian people according to di Constitution of di Federal Republic of Nigeria; NCA 2003; and oda law wey dey for Nigeria and global best practices.

NCC don deny di allegations and dem advise make di public no pay attention to dem.
