Catfish farmers dey lament low patronage due to cashless policy
Catfish farmers for di kontri dey lament di low sales wey dem dey get for dia business as customers no dey show again because of di kain kontri economic situation wey Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) cashless policy and naira redesign don cause.

Di farmers yarn dis tori for interview wey dem get for Lagos on Friday.

One of di farmers, Anthony Hammed, wey be Chief Executive Officer of Simple Aquaculture and Standard Resource Farms, talk say dem dey sad as people no dey buy catfish again, even wen dem don accept mobile transfers wey CBN cashless policy mandate.

Hammed talk say dem dey sell catfish with losses sake of sey people no dey buy again and di price of ingredients and fish feed dey expensive everyday.

He say dem don slash prices but no be as dem dey take break even before.

Another farmer, Kemi Egbucha, talk say plenty farmers don close dia farms sake of sey low patronage dey affect dem.

She talk sey even wen dem fit still get small margin of profit, di business no go too far sake of di increased cost of fish feed materials.

Egbucha talk say dis na di reason why plenty farmers dey lose interest for di business as e dey be say dem dey order feed from companies and dem dey delay dem for up to a month, wey fit cause plenty losses.

She say no be even di high cost of fish feed na di only challenge di farmers dey face as di low patronage don dey make dem frustrated with di business.

Dem talk sey before now, dem dey buy a bag of fish feed for N11,000, but now na N20,600 e dey sell, even wen e still no dey sell well.
